Dr. Bob Broke Up With Us Today!

Dr. Bob broke up with us today. 

For good reasons.

Ezrah's infection is GONE! Her bone (Tibia) has regrown and healed. The mass is 100% dissolved. The *dead* bone has been restored. His parting words to her were "go and be ridiculously average and as active as you can be." 

WE ARE IN AWE. God is good. 

There will always be a chance of a reoccurring infection. We simply still don't know WHY this happened or if this is a chronic issue, or perhaps auto-immune related. These are answers that will only be known through time. But, Ezrah knows to be vocal if her pain returns. Dr. Bob believes this may be an isolated incident...and asked her to please not be unique in this...or an over-achiever...or one of those rare statistics that has osteomyelitis reoccur time and time again. (Which probably better explains his parting words.)

He assessed her gait: IMPROVED! Thanks to Luna Lovegood. Ezrah loves playing and dancing with her new puppy!

We are hopeful that today's bloodwork will confirm what we can SEE through imaging. Bloodwork and Labs are still hard for Ezzie. Hopefully as we move further and further away from this, the lab draws will become fewer and farther between.

The next steps are:

*Evaluating today's bloodwork/labs with Infectious Disease. 

*Meeting with an Allergist on 2/2 to confirm allergies to various medications and rule out others.

*Follow-up with Orthopedics (Dr. Bob) in 6-12 months.

What a journey this has been. I'm still working on finding ME again. This has been all-encompassing as a mom. And to say I'm not struggling finding my way out of this, would be a lie. But, one thing, without a doubt that has been confirmed: YOU, our village have been incredible. The gratitude I feel about our village will always make me emotional. We are never alone. Or forgotten. OR unseen. EZRAH and our FAMILY mattered to you, and boy, did we FEEL that...and still do. Thank you for praying and loving so hard on us. 

I will keep blogging and sharing as we go forward. I've stepped so far back from social media, and that's been good for my heart. I needed to set a boundary there. For me. But, writing here has been cathartic. So, I'll continue...especially as I turn now to finding ME again. She's here...somewhere.

But...for now...it's puppy kisses and snuggle-seshes with LLG (Luna LoveGood)..and maybe Harry Potter World in the near-ish future...our girl has certainly deserved it!
